Increased Anxiety in US Adults, Dr Maroon Discusses How the APOLLO Device Might Help

American Psychiatric Association’s annual mental health poll found an increase in anxiousness among U.S. adults, from 37% in 2023 to 43% in 2024. WHO has defined stress as a “state of worry or mental tension caused by a difficult situation.” It is usually triggered when one is going through a tough or challenging phase in life.

Dr Joseph Maroon, Neurosurgeon and Wellness Expert was recently interviewed by TechAcute, an online blog post, on the potential stress relief associated with the wearable device from APOLLO Health. In the interview, Dr. Maroon discusses how the APOLLO device can be useful to induce a relaxing mood and help you focus. (See Below)

“Apollo is the only wearable device available that will modulate your heart rate variability to a higher level and put you in a meditative state without meditating. You’re calmer, you’re more relaxed, you’re able to focus,” says Dr. Joseph Maroon, MD, FACS, who is also Vice Chairman of Neurosurgery and Neurosurgeon Consultant for the Pittsburgh Steelers. You can imagine that if this can be useful in sports, it can be useful in other high-intensity work as well, which is what the company has done recently.
