September 2023 Dr. Joseph Maroon was recently provided a public lecture at The Villages in central Florida. The video below provides this lecture in its entirety. The lecture series was sponsored by AVIV Clinics also located at The Villages. The lecture focuses on Dr. Maroon’s longtime advocacy to prevent disease through better lifestyle choices. These include, a healthy diet, exercise, reduction of stress and eliminate exposure to toxins. He also reviews the latest studies on the use of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to potentially improve the health of various organs including the brain.
Dr. Maroon’s lecture is based, in part, on his latest book, Square One: A Simple Guide to a Balance Life. These topics include:
Eating a healthy diet: A healthy diet is essential for overall health and well-being. This includes eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
Exercise regularly: Exercise is another important way to promote longevity. It helps to keep the body strong and healthy, and it can also help to reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Getting enough sleep: Sleep is essential for physical and mental health. Adults should aim for 7-8 hours of sleep per night.
Managing stress: Stress can take a toll on the body and mind. It is important to find healthy ways to manage stress, such as exercise, meditation, or yoga.
Avoiding Toxins: Air, water, and consumed toxins are seemingly everywhere, but there are better choices and ways to avoid toxins discussed in the lecture
