Dr. Joseph Maroon to Receive the 2026 Lion’s Pride Award from the Ryan Shazier Foundation

December 2025 – Steeler Ryan Shazier’s Foundation has announced their 2026 award winners to include Dr. Joseph Maroon.  “I’m so honored to be part of this years celebration, known as the Shalieve Event!”, related Dr. Maroon.

This year the event will honor, Matt Berwick with the Shalieve Award, Dr. Joseph Maroon with the Lion’s Pride Award, and Edgar Snyder and Associates with the Kassling Family Leadership Award.

Below are details and reminders for Celebrate Shalieve: 

When is it? Thursday, January 22nd from 6-9 pm. Doors open at 6:00pm.  Our program will start at 7:00 pm.   

Where is the event? Celebrate Shalieve will be at Kingfly Spirits in the Strip District located at 2613 Smallman Street, Pittsburgh, PA. 15222.

Is this event accessible? Absolutely! We have worked closely with Kingfly to ensure all guests are welcome.  There is a lift that someone will escort you to upon arrival. 

Where do I park? There is a large parking garage with accessible parking spaces at The Hub at 3 Crossings located at 114 27th Street.  We also encourage the use of rideshares such as Uber or Lyft, especially if you plan on taking advantage of the Kingfly Spirits. 

What should I wear? Business casual is fine for Celebrate Shalieve, and we always welcome your personal style. 

What are we eating and drinking? You’ll enjoy delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres catered by Black Radish Kitchen and a custom Shalieve cocktail by Kingfly Spirits. You will receive your two drink tokens upon arrival. A cash bar is available.
