Dr Joseph Maroon Co-Chair Of Veteran Fund Raiser

Crucible Press Conference Rocky and Dr MaroonCo-Chairmans Dr Joseph Maroon and Steelers Legend Rocky Bleier are the spokesman for a for a 3-day, 70+ mile extreme hike, called the Crucible.  Traveling on the scenic Laurel Highlands Trail in May 2015 they plan to  raise funds and awareness for  Checkpoint, a new online service intended to help local veterans find important veteran-related resources in the tri-state area.

CHECKPOINT IS A DESTINATION  It’s a gateway.  A place.  And when you’re here, you’re in the driver’s seat. Checkpoint reduces confusion and misinformation that Veterans and military family members face every day when looking for the groups, resources and services that can help them to build great lives here in southwestern PA.  You can search to find the right Veteran & military resources to fit your needs, find out about upcoming events and plug into a rating system that cuts through the confusion about what’s working and what’s not.  Best of all, we empower you to become your own advocate in a way that’s never been done. Go to Checkpoint HERE.

ABOUT THE CRUCIBLE HIKE  “The Crucible is an exciting physical challenge for all participants, and more importantly, it is a great opportunity for hikers and sponsors alike to support a valuable community organization in Checkpoint,” says Maroon. “I’d like to offer my enthusiastic endorsement and personally look forward to taking on the physical challenge The Crucible presents to all participants.
