Concussion Expert Dr. Joseph Maroon Interviewed by Univ. of Michigan Concussion Center

Dr. Joseph Maroon is a board-certified clinical professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, and is a recognized leader in the field of sports concussion.  Dr. Maroon was recently interviewed by host Steve Broglio at the University of Michigan’s Concussion Center’s podcast show, entitled, Concussion Headliners: Behind the Scenes with the Experts.

Steve notes that Dr. Maroon is a true pioneer in the field of neurosurgery and concussion research.  Dr. Joseph Maroon is not only a board-certified clinical professor of neurological surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center but also a co-developer of the ImPACT computer test for concussion. He has spent over forty years as the team neurosurgeon for the Pittsburgh Steelers and believes that adversity is one of the greatest teachers. During the podcast, Dr. Maroon relates stories about growing up in Bridgeport, Ohio, and shares his many advances in the field of concussion management in sport.
