Resveratrol appears to be the strongest natural longevity gene-activating substance tested to date. Other polyphenols, such as quercetin (found in grapes, apples and onions), along with other fruit and vegetable polyphenols also have various degrees of health benefits. This is why a glass or two of red wine per day, which only contains an average of 1 to 3 mg of resveratrol per bottle but is combined with over 500 other polyphenols, has been shown to also provide health benefits.
