From Points East (Philadelphia, Harrisburg) Via the Pennsylvania Turnpike
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take Exit 57 (Pittsburgh/Monroeville Exit) to I-376 West. From I-376 West, take Exit 3B (Oakland/Bates St. Exit). At the first stoplight on Bates Street, turn left onto the Boulevard of the Allies. At the first stoplight on the Boulevard of the Allies, turn right onto Halket Street (you will be at the Best Western Hotel). At the first stoplight on Halket Street, turn right onto Forbes Avenue (a one-way street). Follow Forbes for approximately three full blocks; turn left onto Atwood Street. Travel one block; turn left onto Fifth Avenue (Fifth Avenue is a one-way street for all traffic except buses). Take the first possible right turn, onto Lothrop Street.

For valet parking. Turn right at the intersection of Lothrop and Victoria streets. You will be in the main drop-off area for UPMC Presbyterian. Bear to the far right for valet parking. For the hours during which valet parking is available, call (412) 647-3194.

To park your vehicle yourself. In the block after the intersection of Lothrop and Victoria streets are two entrances to the UPMC Garage, the closest parking facility to UPMC Presbyterian. Each entrance is on the left side of Lothrop and marked by a blue sign bearing a white "P" for parking. Another entrance to the garage is on Terrace Street; to access the Terrace Street entrance, turn left at Lothrop and Terrace.

From Points West (Ohio, Pittsburgh International Airport) Via the Ohio Turnpike and Route 60
From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, take Exit 1A to Route 60 South. Follow Route 60 South past the Pittsburgh International Airport to I-279 North. Take I-279 North through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, and follow the signs to I-376 East. Take Exit 2A (Forbes/Oakland Exit). Continue on Forbes for approximately six full blocks to Atwood Street. Turn left onto Atwood Street. Travel one block; turn left onto Fifth Avenue (Fifth Avenue is a one-way street for all traffic except buses). Take the first possible right turn, onto Lothrop Street.

From Points South (Washington, Pa.; West Virginia) Via I-79 North
Take I-79 North to Exit 59A, I-279 North. Take I-279 North through the Fort Pitt Tunnel, and follow the signs to I-376 East. Take Exit 2A (Forbes/Oakland Exit). You will exit onto Forbes Avenue, a one-way street.

Continue on Forbes for approximately six full blocks to Atwood Street. Turn left onto Atwood Street. Travel one block; turn left onto Fifth Avenue (Fifth Avenue is a one-way street for all traffic except buses). Take the first possible right turn, onto Lothrop Street.

From Points North (Erie, Western New York) Via I-79
Take I-79 South to I-279 South. From I-279 South, take Exit 72, to Pittsburgh. Near downtown Pittsburgh, take Exit 8A to I-579; follow the signs to Monroeville. Take the Forbes Avenue/Oakland exit; do not exit at I-376 east. Make the right turn onto the Forbes Avenue ramp. You will exit onto Forbes Avenue, a one-way street.

From the Northeast (Route 28)
Take Route 28 South to the Highland Park Bridge. As you cross the bridge, get into the left lane. Follow the sign that will take you down the ramp toward Washington Boulevard. As you exit the ramp, ensure that you are in the right lane. Just before the first traffic light, veer right onto Washington Boulevard. Travel on Washington Boulevard through four traffic signals (about two miles). At the fourth traffic light, Washington Boulevard crosses Penn Avenue and becomes Fifth Avenue. Follow Fifth Avenue into the Oakland section of Pittsburgh (about 2.5 miles). At the intersection of Bigelow Boulevard and Fifth Avenue, you will see the Cathedral of Learning, a landmark of the University of Pittsburgh campus. From this point, travel five blocks to Lothrop Street. (Note: Fifth Avenue is a one-way street for all traffic except buses.)

From the North
There are two routes commonly used.

Take Route 8 South to Route 28 North. Follow Route 28 North to the Highland Park Bridge. As you cross the bridge, get into the left lane and follow the Washington Boulevard ramp. As you exit the ramp, remain in the right lane. Just before the traffic light, veer right onto Washington Boulevard. Travel straight on Washington Boulevard through four traffic signals (about two miles). At the fourth traffic signal, Washington Boulevard crosses Penn Avenue and becomes Fifth Avenue. Continue on Fifth Avenue to South Aiken. Turn right and follow South Aiken to the Visitor Parking Garage, on the left, or turn left onto Centre Avenue. The Medical Center Garage is on your left.
Take I-279 South to Exit 8B (Route 28 North). Follow Route 28 North to the 40^th Street Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue up 40^th Street to Liberty Avenue. Turn left onto Liberty Avenue and continue to Centre Avenue. Use the Medical Center Garage, on your right, or continue straight onto South Aiken and use the Visitor Parking Garage, which is on your right.

From Allegheny Valley (Armstrong County, Tarentum)
Take Route 28 South to the Highland Park Bridge. As you cross the bridge, get into the left lane and follow the Washington Boulevard ramp. As you exit the ramp, remain in the right lane. Just before the traffic light, veer right onto Washington Boulevard. Travel straight on Washington Boulevard through four traffic signals (about two miles). At the fourth traffic light, Washington Boulevard crosses Penn Avenue and becomes Fifth Avenue. Continue on Fifth Avenue to South Aiken. Turn right and follow South Aiken to the Visitor Parking Garage, on the left, or turn left onto Centre Avenue. The Medical Center Garage is on your left.

From the South (South Hills)
Take Routh 51 North or Route 19 North through the Liberty Tunnels and cross the Liberty Bridge. Take the Bigelow Boulevard Exit and continue on Bigelow to Centre Avenue. Turn left onto Centre Avenue. Use the Medical Center Garage, on your right, or turn right onto South Aiken and use the Visitor Parking Garage, on your right.

From the East
Travel west on I-376 (the Parkway) to Exit 8B (the Wilkinsburg/Route 8 North exit). The exit ramp merges directly onto Ardmore Boulevard, which is also Route 8 North. At the fourth traffic light, Route 8 North merges into Penn Avenue; follow Penn Avenue for about three miles, to the intersection of Penn and Fifth avenues. Turn left onto Fifth Avenue. Travel several blocks on Fifth Avenue to South Aiken Avenue. Turn right onto South Aiken.

To park at the Visitor Parking Garage: After two traffic lights, the Visitor Parking Garage is the second parking garage on the left. (The first garage is for hospital employees only.)

To park at the Medical Center Garage: At the third stoplight on South Aiken Avenue, turn left onto Centre Avenue. At the first stoplight past the hospital, turn left into the Medical Center Garage.

From the West (Airport area)
Take I-279 North and get into the right lane before you pass through the Fort Pitt Tunnel. As you exit the tunnel, take the exit ramp for I-376 East (Monroeville). Follow I-376 to Exit 2A (Forbes Avenue/Oakland). Continue on Forbes Avenue through Oakland, and turn left at North Craig Street (just after the Carnegie Museum of Art). Turn right onto Fifth Avenue; continue on Fifth Avenue to South Aiken. Turn left and follow South Aiken to the Visitor Parking Garage, on the left, or turn left onto Centre Avenue. The Medical Center Garage is on your left.

From the North
Take Route19 South through the Wexford business district. Take the McKnight Road Exit; proceed to the fourth traffic light (Cumberland Road intersection). Turn left onto Cumberland Road. At the first traffic light, go straight onto the hospital campus. Make first left into parking lots.

From the East
Take I-376 West (the Parkway) toward Pittsburgh. Take exit to I-279 North. Stay on I-279 to exit 11, McKnight Road. Exit ramp leads you directly onto McKnight Road, northbound. Pass Ross Park Mall, McIntyre Square, and Northway Mall. Once you pass TGI Fridays Restaurant, on your right, get into the right lane. At the next traffic light (Cumberland Road), turn right. Follow Cumberland to traffic light. Go straight through intersection, onto hospital campus. Make first left into parking lots.

From Downtown
Take I-279 North to exit 11, McKnight Road. Exit ramp leads you directly onto McKnight Road, northbound. Stay on McKnight past Ross Park Mall, McIntyre Square, and Northway Mall. Once you pass TGI Fridays Restaurant, on your right, get into the right lane. At the next traffic light (Cumberland Road), turn right. Follow Cumberland to traffic light. Go straight through intersection, onto hospital campus. Make first left into parking lots.

From the South
Go through Fort Pitt Tunnel to I-279 North. Take exit 11, McKnight Road. Exit ramp leads you directly onto McKnight Road, northbound. Stay on McKnight past Ross Park Mall, McIntyre Square, and Northway Mall. Once you pass TGI Fridays Restaurant, on your right, get into the right lane. At the next traffic light (Cumberland Road), turn right. Follow Cumberland to the next traffic light. Go straight through intersection, onto hospital campus. Make first left into parking lots.

From Pittsburgh and east

Take the Parkway West to the Washington-Erie/I-79 exit. Go north on I-79 to Route 65 and take Sewickley exit 66 (formerly exit 19). Follow Route 65 north to Sewickley. Turn right onto Broad Street at the light. (Sewickley Bridge is on the left.) Go through two traffic lights and one stop sign to the top of the hill. Turn left into the visitors’ parking garage.

From the south

From the Pittsburgh International Airport

Exit the Pittsburgh International Airport on Route 60 north (Moon/Beaver exit). Follow Route 60 north to exit 8 – Business Route 60 (Flaugherty-Moon Run Road). Take this exit to the stop sign at the top of the hill. Go straight after the stop sign for a short distance. Turn right onto Business Route 60 south. Turn left at the fourth light. Follow this road (Beers School Road) until you reach the Sewickley Bridge. Turn left at the bridge and go across the Ohio River. Go straight through the traffic light into Sewickley. This is Broad Street. Go through two more traffic lights and one stop sign to the top of the hill. Turn left into the visitors’ parking garage.
