Speaking Out for Youth Football – One Parents Perspective

Youth FootballNovember 20, 2015 – The Huffington Post published yesterday the thoughts and perspective of a parent who has allowed her son to play football and why it is so important for her and her son’s life.  This parent is also a colleague and co-work of mine here at UPMC.  Erin Donovan is physician assistant in neurosurgery and extremely knowledgeable on the subject of concussion risk and sports.  Her words and sentiments are often overlooked in the discussion about youth football, but like her son and the 1.1 million youth football players and families she feels strongly that for her child the benefits outweigh the risks.
